Better Together: Youth Matter

Youth matter and everyone directly involved or who witnessed the EU-funded project "Better Together" have experienced this. After two years, the EU and SFCG-Lebanon are delighted to invite you all to the closing event of the ‘Better Together: A Youth-Led Approach to Peaceful Coexistence’ project in Beirut.

"Better Together" has engaged 320 young Palestinians, Lebanese and Syrians in constructive dialogue through the development of their artistic skills. Not only is this group of young people an amazing and energetic crowd to be around, but they have also worked hard to challenge their prejudices and ask difficult questions about themselves and their surroundings! With the help from a team of artists working on the project they have expressed their feelings through drawing, music, theatre and videos while developing long-lasting relationships and improving their confidence. It has been truly inspiring to watch this process of positive change.

The event will feature a documentary, which captures the journey of those involved in the project over the past year followed by a panel discussion on the successes and challenges arising from the implementation of youth projects in countries like Lebanon. The panel discussion will also comment on the newly passed UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security which recognizes and addresses the role of youth in (post-) conflict scenarios.

On the 14th of April you will be able to witness this for yourself at:

Date: Thursday April 14th 2016 from 17.30pm to 19.00pm Place: Empire Metropolis Sofil in Beirut, Lebanon
